Ember Iron Arcana

Of Fealty and Fire — The Pantheon

Aeloria

The All-Mother

Before throne, there was hearth. Before crown, there was mother.

Family Protection Home Belonging

Aeloria is also called The Hearth Mother, Mother of the Gods, Keeper of the First Hearth, She Who Gathers, and The First Embrace.

The First Hearth

Before kingdoms were raised and before the gods took their places within the world, Aeloria kindled the first flame. Around that flame the divine children gathered, receiving the spark of their divine nature and their first understanding of love, protection, and belonging.

She is not ruler of the gods, nor does she claim dominion over their spheres. She is something older than authority — their mother. The gods may disagree, deceive, fight, love, and betray, but beneath all difference they remain her children.

Every mortal hearth is a distant reflection of that First Hearth: a fire kept burning through winter, a table with an extra place set, a parent shielding a frightened child, a family gathered to mourn, or a stranger given shelter from the storm.

“Before throne, there was hearth. Before crown, there was mother. Before the gods bore names, they were children.”

Virtues of the Faithful

Tenets of Aeloria

  • Protect those entrusted to your care
  • Keep your hearth open to those in genuine need
  • Honor parents, children, family, and chosen kin
  • Do not abandon another merely because they have fallen
  • Do not mistake blood for virtue
  • Teach those beneath your care to become independent and strong
  • Remember those who came before you
  • Never use family to shelter wrongdoing
“What is given shelter must be guarded. What is given love must be honored. What is welcomed into the hearth becomes kin.”

Sacred Symbol

Aeloria’s sacred symbol is a living flame enclosed within an open circle. The flame represents life, warmth, and continuity; the circle represents family and protection; and its opening represents welcome. A closed circle protects only those already within it, while an open circle allows another to enter.

“Blood makes kin. Love makes family.”

Hearthkeepers — Priesthood

Priests and priestesses of Aeloria are called Hearthkeepers. They are expected to embody patience, compassion, strength, discipline, and protection while serving entire communities rather than only a single congregation.

  • Bless marriages, unions, and newborn namings
  • Maintain orphanages, shelters, and communal kitchens
  • Feed travelers and mediate family disputes
  • Preside over funerals and preserve ancestral histories

A temple of Aeloria never turns away genuine shelter without grave cause. The highest-ranking priests are known as Mothers of the Hearth, regardless of sex. The faithful hold that no child is without a mother, no hearth is without a place, and no soul is beyond belonging.
